Amanda's Blog
Fall 2011
by Amanda Overmyer on 08/17/11
Wow! I am REALLY bad at keeping up on this! Sorry it took so long for me to update this blog, I am frequently on my Facebook page and unfortunately, my one track mind fails to give the website the same attention! We have had a great season so far, lots of mileage, lots of fun, lots of memories! Next up, we head to Florida and Georgia, and we hope to see you all there! See the dates page for more details! There are also a few acoustic shows coming up for those of you more into an intimate setting...Keep on a' Rockin' America! We'll always be here through the ups and downs this country sees, hopefully bringing a smile to everyone's face in these scary times. I know there are a lot of you out there struggling to get through, you and the rest of this country are in my prayers every day. I know God has a plan and each and everyone of us play a part in that plan. Find your part, play your part, live your part. Stand up for what is righteous in this world and do not be afraid to stand on your convictions. Do not be afraid to fight.
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday,
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in
his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked
schemes to pass,
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret- it only causes harm.
For evildoers shall be cut off;
But those who wait on the Lord,
They shall inherit the earth.
-Psalm 37:6-9

We've started on the new songs and I'm really looking forward to hearing everyones response and seeing what they think! We are starting to book the shows for this year, so stay posted to keep up on where we are, and if you are interested in having either the full on rock or broken down acoustic set in your town, just leave us a message here!! I'm staying very busy with the album and the show push for this coming year, but other than that, enjoying some much needed R&R!!! Payson AZ is awesome!
by Amanda Overmyer on 10/11/10
So we got to AZ and back safely. Arizona is the prettiest state ever! We had a blast at the show, the crowd was great! A big thanks to Ron Adler of All Bikes Motorcycle Graveyard in Payson. Megan, our photographer lives in Arizona, so we were looking for cool photo shoot locations. We just happened to drive by this place and they were nice enough to stay later to get some shots. They are going to look so cool! This place is huge! If you need parts, antiques to restore or any other mechanical accessory, seriously check this place out. There are a few photos on my Facebook with more to come! Had so much fun!

Thunder Mountain Ride!
by Amanda Overmyer on 10/04/10
So one word describes the Dekalb Co. Fair. BRRRRRR!!!! It was a really fun show, and a really good show, but wow it was cold! Thanks to all the crowd who stayed through the cold! This weekend we are in Payson, AZ. for the Thunder Mountain Ride! The weather forecast there says that it is supposed to be 103 degrees! Quite a change! I have a feeling the cold that I just got over might be coming back! Check out my Facebook for pictures from the show!

Ride to the River was a fun show. Go to my Facebook page to see the pictures, it was the weirdest/coolest set-up ever. There was literally a river in between the stage and crowd. They had a huge suspension bridge that you walked across to get to the stage! Anyway, super fun people down there at Apache Pass! A big thanks to Carol and VIP for being such great hosts! We really enjoyed it! Next weekend, we get to play for our home state, Indiana! It will be nice to do a show in our own back yard, you get to sleep in your own bed after the show! We will be at the Dekalb Co. Fair in Auburn, IN Saturday. Show starts at 8 and of course, after the show, I will be hanging out to meet everyone! Come get you a new shirt, they are totally cool! See you there!

Blue Lake Ride

So Denver went well. I didn't get much time to see anything, however, I was going full force from the moment I got there till the moment we left! Still, it was cool waking up and seeing mountains in the distance rather than cornfields! So tomorrow the boys and I are hoping on the big ol' jet airliner to go to Blue Lake, California! I am super excited about this one! I copied this from the website:
In addition to all the great prizes, Blue Lake Ride will feature local and national recording artists, vendors from throughout the United States, food, your favorite beverages and unbelievable gaming opportunities. Lodging and camping opportunities are abundant throughout the area.
Blue Lake Casino & Hotel is fifteen minutes from Eureka, California in famed Humboldt County. The Pacific Ocean, Redwood Forest, Trinity River and Eel River are minutes away.

Charging up for CA!
by Amanda Overmyer on 08/24/10
So Bikefest on the Grand was a blast! I got to go early as I had television and radio spots to do the day before the show and got to meet some really fun people! Thanks Conestoga Campground management and campers for the fine hospitality! Also, thanks to Chris for showing us around! Next up, we got a long haul to Blue Lake, CA. No kidding, it is going to take us 4, count em', 4 airplanes to get us there! Look it up on a map, it is clear over on the coast of California near the Oregon border. Boondocks! But we are so excited to go, it is gorgeous out there! We haven't been since last year so it will be a blast! I would also like to welcome the two new members of the band, Ritchie Wilkison on Lead Guitar and Aaron Lanane on Bass. They had their first experience of the craziness that is the AO Tour this weekend, and luckily, they are still here! (Even after our bus got stuck in the sand...yeah, we had to get a bulldozer to pull it out!) Don't forget to go to my Facebook page as well to keep up on what we are doing. There are pictures, video, etc. from this weekend! And tell your buddies to "Like" my page too!

Bikefest on the Grand!
by Amanda Overmyer on 08/02/10
Hello, AO Troops! So, yeah, anything that could have gone wrong, went wrong for the Pontiac show. An hour into the trip, the bus alternator gave out, so I drove back to the house, grabbed the Suburban, piled everyone into three cars (this was the trip everyone's family could go to so we had a lot more people) and took off. Rolled in at 1 am hit the bunks. Showed up the next day at 11 for soundcheck, but the way the show was lined up, we determined it was best to soundcheck right before we played, so we left and went back to the hotel. We came back to the venue at 5:30 ready to go only to find out the promoters were having "funding issues" and then proceeded to go back to the hotel to head back home the next day. As soon as I parked my truck in the driveway.....the water pump went out. We did make the best of it and had fun redneck style and drank beer in the hotel parking lot on the curb by the the truck and trailor. We are a classy bunch! So, I would love to post about how great the show was, but we didn't get to play, so I can't! But, never fear, because the next show we do is in Michigan, so those of you who didn't get to see us this weekend, we are coming back the 21st!

See you there!

Midwest Motorcycle Event - LIVE! at the Silverdome!!
by Amanda Overmyer on 07/26/10
So, the Fulton Co. fair was a lot of fun, other than the fact that we got half way through the show and then mother nature promptly threw a MONSOON at us and we had to quit playing. Do you want to know what the worst part of it all was? Our stage was set up on a dirt track..what does dirt turn to when it gets wet? MUD! I, no joke, had just that day swept and mopped the bus and it was spotless. With the rain, all the boys tracked massive amounts of mud into my perfectly clean bus! Guess what I get to do tomorrow!?!? But, other than the mess, it was still a blast! Rochester has got some super cool people! And the food there was awesome! Not to mention, we unveiled the new T-Shirts! Everyone loved them, so make sure you get one, they are so cool! So this weekend we have two shows, one Friday, one Saturday in Pontiac, MI at the Silverdome for the Midwest Motorcycle Fest. We will be playing with Jackyl and the one an only David Allan Coe! This will be so much fun I can't even think about it. PLUS - the ENTIRE Overmyer clan will be there. Where there is one Overmyer, there is 20. Come hang out with us, I know we will be having fun! See you there!

Fulton Co. 4-H Fair
by Amanda Overmyer on 07/13/10Hey AO watchers! Hope your week has gone great! Big thanks to Chris with T-Productions for again, making our show in Kokomo awesome! Greatest sound man ever! Thanks to the inmates (correct me if I am wrong) from the Miami Correctional Facility for helping us set up and tear down the stage, I was going to post a picture of everyone but the guard said no! Anyway, the Haynes-Apperson festival was a blast! We had so much fun! Next up on the schedule is the Fulton Co. 4-H Fair in Rochester, IN! We are playing July 23rd at 9:00p so I hope to see you all there! This will be the last show in Indiana for awhile so if you are from where I am from, you better get out the house and come see us! Don't forget to go to my Facebook pages and talk with me a bit - I am on there talking with fans a lot so I'm sure you'll catch me! Also, if you haven't yet, go to aoarmystreetteam.com to join the AO Army today!!!!!
